KISS My Article Marketing Butt
Hi There,
Glad you dropped by. Hope you like what you see. If not, let me know what you would prefer to see instead. :)
SanIt’s big enough.
Seriously, I’ve been using article marketing for a while and what amazes me is how many people now believe it’s their God given right, if not their duty, to point out that article marketing is more complicated and requires much more insider knowledge than you ever dreamed of.
Give me a break. Almost without exception, most of the article marketing ‘gurus’ advice is nothing short of pure rubbish!
Article marketing has been around since long before the Internet ever even existed. Why? Because it works and because it’s simple enough that anyone can do it. (well, anyone who can write a decent word on two on their chosen topic).
Now, because the gurus and experts can’t make enough money unless they make it out to be more than it is, suddenly article marketing has become something to be scared of and studied intently to make sure you’re up to date on all the latest tricks, tips, and must have information. After all, you aren’t likely to shell out for their overpriced courses or pay the extortinate fees they charge for submitting your content to the rest of the world, if it turns out that article marketing really is as simple as you first thought it was and you can just do it all yourself.
I am not, and have never claimed to be, the brightest button in the box. But I know what works when it comes to making the most out of articles. And I don’t need to listen to some of the puffed up gurus who spout their nonsense as a way of trying to convince me it won’t work unless I follow their every word.
Ya know, there’s a lot to be said for being seen as an authority in your niche. After all, one of the huge benefits of article marketing is that very ability to brand yourself as an expert. So I can understand why there’s such a hoopla made by the gurus in the IM world. They need to convince you they know more than you do, they have to push your buttons to get you to buy their stuff and you’re not likely to do that if they haven’t convinced you they know everything there is to know.
But, (and imo,it’s a big BUT), do they really need to be so obnoxious about it? Just because you know more about a subject than someone else, does that really mean you have to act holier than thou? Personally, I never liked the ‘Rich Jerk’ approach, but half of these so called article marketing experts are just jerks. They can’t even lay claim to the ‘rich’ part of the title!
Please don’t get suckered in by them. Chances are your own common sense is all you need when it comes to article marketing. It really isn’t rocket science folks. I long since gave up on listening to experts and gurus and it was only when I stopped listening to them that I finally started to make any real headway.
